Standard <i>Taish\u014d<\/i> editorial convention designates these two witnesses as \u3010\u9e97\u4e59\u3011 (Goryeo B) and \u3010\u8056\u4e59\u3011 (Sh\u014dgo-z\u014d B), respectively; there is no formal provision for \u3010\u9e97\u5225\u3011, \u3010\u8056\u5225\u3011, or \u3010\u5225\u3011. All instances occur within T13n0397, which uses \u3010\u9e97\u4e59\u3011 and \u3010\u8056\u4e59\u3011 alongside two anomalous occurrences of \u3010\u5225\u3011.<\/p>\n\n<p>An examination of collation entries for &#8220;\u3014\u6cb3\u3015\uff0d\u3010\u5225\u3011&#8221; (omission of \u6cb3 in witness \u3010\u5225\u3011) reveals four occurrences across witnesses \u3010\u4e09\u3011, \u3010\u5bae\u3011, \u3010\u77e5\u3011, \u3010\u9e97\u4e59\u3011, and \u3010\u5225\u3011\u2014notably including &#8220;17\u3014\u6cb3\u3015\uff0d\u3010\u9e97\u4e59\u3011&#8221; on page 199. Similarly, notes for &#8220;\u3014\u5982\u3015\uff0d\u3010\u5225\u3011&#8221; (omission of \u5982 in witness \u3010\u5225\u3011) show nine occurrences across \u3010\u4e09\u3011, \u3010\u5bae\u3011, \u3010\u8056\u3011, and \u3010\u5225\u3011\u2014notably including &#8220;02 \u3014\u5982\u3015\uff0d\u3010\u8056\u3011&#8221; on page 185. However, Volume 2 (&#8220;Catalogue of the Southern Ming Canon&#8221; \u5927\u660e\u4e09\u85cf\u8056\u6559\u5357\u85cf\u76ee\u9304, p. 334) lists two versions of the <i>Shanzi jing<\/i>: No. 211 (<i>Pusa shanzi jing<\/i>) and No. 213 (<i>Foshuo shanzi jing<\/i>). The primary Imperial Household Library edition is designated by the siglum \u3010\u5bae\u3011. It is not defined in the back matter, where the table for Dunhuang manuscripts lists only three sigla: \u3010\u6566\u3011 (Dun), \u3010\u6566\u4e59\u3011 (Dun B), and \u3010\u6566\u4e19\u3011 (Dun C).\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>\nA review of the &#8220;Catalogue of Ancient Lost Sutras, Commentaries, and Manuscripts from Dunhuang&#8221; (\u71c9\u714c\u672c\u53e4\u9038\u7d93\u8ad6\u7ae0\u758f(\u5e76)\u53e4\u5beb\u7d93\u76ee\u9304; <i>Sh\u014dwa h\u014db\u014d s\u014dmokuroku<\/i>, vol. 1, p. 1055, note [01]) shows that the listed manuscript sigla (\u82f1, \u4f5b, \u4eac, \u5927, \u8c37, \u9f8d, \u4e2d, \u5c71, \u897f, \u4e09, \u7530, \u6c5f, \u6751, \u672a) contain no reference to \u3010\u6566\u65b9\u3011. High-resolution examination of original images indicates that the character is actually \u4e19 (bing, i.e., Siglum C) rather than \u5167 (nei), making the intended siglum \u3010\u6566\u4e19\u3011 (Dun C). <\/p>\n\n<p>Palaeographically, the central component of \u4e19 features a vertical stem extending upward (\u4eba), whereas \u5167 features a left-slanting stroke (\u5165). In every instance where \u3010\u6566\u5167\u3011 appears, high-resolution manuscript images confirm a straight vertical stroke (\u4e19). The main Sh\u014ds\u014d-in Sh\u014dgo-z\u014d manuscripts (\u6b63\u5009\u9662\u8056\u8a9e\u85cf\u672c) are Tenpy\u014d manuscripts (\u5929\u5e73\u5beb\u7d93) designated as \u3010\u8056\u3011 (which includes the Tenpy\u014d-sh\u014dh\u014d manuscripts). The siglum \u3010\u8056\u4e59\u3011 is defined as an &#8220;Alternate Sh\u014dgo-z\u014d manuscript from the Sh\u014ds\u014d-in&#8221; (\u6b63\u5009\u9662\u8056\u8a9e\u85cf\u672c\u5225\u5beb). Because the catalog lists Sui, Tang, and Tenpy\u014d manuscripts under this collection, \u3010\u8056\u4e59\u3011 likely refers to one of the non-Tenpy\u014d groups.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>\nSince <i>Taish\u014d<\/i> collation sigla generally follow chronological order, \u3010\u8056\u4e59\u3011 (&#8220;Alternate Sh\u014dgo-z\u014d manuscript&#8221;) most likely designates the Sui manuscripts. This is supported by an entry on page 410 of the &#8220;Comparative Catalogue&#8221; for T26n1522 (<i>Shidi jing lun<\/i> \u5341\u5730\u7d93\u8ad6), which identifies Sh\u014dgo-z\u014d Sui Manuscript No. 3 (\u8056\u8a9e\u85cf\u968b\u7d93\u7b2c\u4e09\u865f) as a key collated text. Cross-referencing with T53n1851 (<i>Dasheng yizhang<\/i> \u5927\u4e58\u7fa9\u7ae0, p. 476) indicates that <i>Meisha<\/i> manuscripts also subsumed under the Tenpy\u014d Manuscripts (\u5929\u5e73\u5beb\u7d93), i.e.\u3010\u8056\u3011.\n\n<p>While &#8220;Part 1&#8221; lists no Tang manuscripts for the <i>Shidi jing lun<\/i>, Volume 2 (&#8220;Part 2: [Miscellaneous] Manuscripts&#8221; \u7b2c\u4e8c\u985e[\u96dc\u7d93]\u5beb\u7d93\u4e4b\u90e8, p. 970) lists No. 102 (<i>Shidi lun<\/i>, 5 vols.) and No. 103 (<i>Shidi jing<\/i>, 8 vols.). Because Nos. 102 and 103 are cataloged between Tang-era works (e.g., <i>Datang neidian lu<\/i> \u5927\u5510\u5167\u5178\u9304 and <i>Zhenyuan xinding shijiao mokuroku<\/i>\u8c9e\u5143\u65b0\u5b9a\u91cb\u6559\u76ee\u9304), they fall under the Tang Manuscripts category in the Sh\u014dgo-z\u014d collection.
